Orange Blossom Tea Parties!

I can't recall exactly when it was that I began getting obsessed with tea parties.  I don't believe it was very long ago...maybe a few years?  I tend to fixate on things though until I wear them out...and my Orange Blossom Tea Parties are no where near worn out for me yet!
I love that they are pretty, vintage, elegant and ornate.  It's all my favourite things wrapped up in one table.

I have to share my love with the rest of the world!  So we design and co-ordinate STUNNING tea parties for Wedding Showers, Kitchen Teas, Baby Showers, Birthdays and Hens Days....or any other occasion really!

I call them Orange Blossom Tea Parties, and this is because my dear father has called me his "little orange blossom" for as long as I can remember.

In 2010, I threw my first Tea Party and invited all my lady friends for lovely lunch in the Gold Coast Botanical Gardens.  It was a sumptuous feast of all things vintage, bone china, pearls and lace.  I knew even then that I was going to make this a yearly event and make it a ChariTEA Party....combining my two loves, Tea & Charity!  This event may start small but will one day be one of the MUST ATTEND events on the Gold Coast....watch this space.

Party Table
A beautifully decorated party table with pink table cloth, white satin table runner and grass placemats.  Centrepieces are multicoloured balloons and feather trees.  Each place setting boasts matching candy spot plate and cup in varying shades of pink.  Our fairy party napkins are just the right size for those sticky little fingers! 
Bench seats are covered with pink vinyl seat covers with scalloped edges.

Room Theming
The room is transformed to resemble a woodland fairy garden with pink, white and yellow satin banners hanging from the ceiling and meeting in a peak in the middle.  A paper lantern with purple butterflies is the focal point in the centre of the room.  The floor is covered with a pretty pink ring mat outlined in white stars. 
A themed popcorn station and cake table is also provided with blue gingham cloth and pink satin runner.
A fairy garden photo booth complete with grass, giant flowers and a butterfly covered wicker chair is also provided to guarantee you capture that Kodak moment!

Black, White & Bling Sydney Wedding

The Brief...
...Sophisticated & Modern...

...Black White & Bling...

...Hints of Purple & Baby Pink...

Date:  Friday 10th June 2011
Venue:  Doltone House, Sylvania Waters, New South Wales

PLACE SETTINGS
Decorative silver charger plates added instant class to the place settings.  White linen napkins were folded in a long rectangular fashion and placed in between the charger plate and dinner plate to hang elegantly over the edge of the table.

BONBONNIERE
Bonbonniere were miniature pale pink boxes with black satin ribbon tied in a bow.  Inside were multicoloured chocolate love hearts.  The boxes were placed in the centre of each dinner plate.

CENTREPIECES
Magnificent silver urns with shattered mirror detail immediately drew attention as guests entered the room.  They overflowed with white and pink hydrangeas, open pink roses and purple dahlias.  Centrepieces were placed on mirror bases and surrounded with silver mirrored votive candles.  Each centrepiece was nestled in between two smaller floral arrangements which matched the large centrepiece.

TABLE NAMES
Instead of traditional table numbers, we opted for romantic table names including Love, Eternity, Bliss etc.  The bespoke names were fashioned from silver glitter cardboard with a fleur de lis overlay and silver pearl paper.

CHAIRS & TABLE LINEN
Tables were covered with alternating black & white table cloths and the opposite coloured linen chair covers.  Satin sashes matched the chair covers and were decorated with round diamante encrusted buckles.



BRIDAL TABLE

The bridal table was the centrepiece of the room and was swathed in purple satin overlays and white pleated skirting.  The front of the table was aglow with soft candlelight from candle holders of various shapes and sizes.

CAKE

The Wedding Cake was modelled after Hillary Duff’s, and was a three tier layered chocolate and caramel sponge filled with fresh cream.


WISHING WELL STATION

Our signature vintage bird cage wishing well station was placed at the entrance of the room so guests could deposit their gifts as soon as they entered. The guest book was placed in front of it.


LOLLY BUFFET
The bride wanted a Lolly Buffet that matched the rest of the room theming so our team put this together.  Lollies were predominantly black and white with purple chocolate love hearts.  The table was overlaid with purple satin runners and diamante buckles.

BRIDAL WALTZ
For the most romantic bridal waltz, the floor was covered with dry ice and lighting was dimmed as the bride and groom had their first dance as husband and wife.

LIGHTING
Every wedding we have the pleasure of co-ordinating, we stress the importance of lighting.  The right lighting transforms a beautiful setting into a magical atmosphere.  The images to the left show the different moods that can be created with different coloured lighting.  The picture below shows the soft purple glow that washed the room.

Sugar & Spice Events - Chocolate and White Wedding Theme

On Easter Sunday we had the ABSOLUTE PLEASURE of styling a gorgeous wedding at Mantra Salt Hotel in Kingscliffe.  The Bride's breif was: elegant, a touch of vintage, sophisticated, and a chocolate and white theme.  We feel we acheived that...let us know if you do too!

These are an elegant alternative to white lycra chair covers if you prefer a softer, more feminine look.  All chairs were decorated with a chocolate brown satin chair bow.

Place Settings
Charger plates are large decorative plates used to dress tables and our gold beaded range added instant glamour.  We chose gold to work in with crystal amber  beads which were used on the invitations.

White linen napkins matched tablecloths and were folded in a simple rectangular fashion.  A chocolate coloured satin ribbon with small diamante-look buckle brought in the colour to the place settings.  Napkins were positioned on top of the charger plates.

Centrepieces
These stunning crystal drop candelabras were an elegant focal point for the tables. 
Glittering with  white candles, they bathed the table in soft candlelight.  Candelabras were placed on mirror bases and surrounded by tea light votive candles.

Wedding Cake
The bride opted for a scrummy chocolate mud cake with chocolate moulding icing and white ribbon.  The cake was provided by Yenmart, located in Bureigh on the Gold Coast.  Flowers by The Lilac Tree, also located on the Gold Coast.


Cage Wishing Well Station
Our wishing well stations are a celebration of love!  They include:
·         Vintage books
·         An old dictionary with the definition of love highlighted
·         a photo frame with bride loves groom
·         matching ribbon to suit wedding colours
·         Wishing well sign to suit the colours of the wedding.  The sign reads “Your generous gifts are gratefully received”.
·         1 large bird cage, 1 small bird cage

The Groom wa an actor so we included some old Latin play books...it's all about personal touches!


In an old dictionary, we highlighted the definiton of love for guests to read as they popped in their gift

Ceremony

The Bride and Groom were worried about inclement weather on the day so decided to take the safe road and set up for a beautiful ceremony inside the ballroom.  We set our stunning Fairy Light backdrop for the couple to say their vows in front of, a red carpet aisle and white satin covered chairs for guests.
