On Easter Sunday we had the ABSOLUTE PLEASURE of styling a gorgeous wedding at Mantra Salt Hotel in Kingscliffe.  The Bride's breif was: elegant, a touch of vintage, sophisticated, and a chocolate and white theme.  We feel we acheived that...let us know if you do too!

Satin Tie Back Chair Covers

These are an elegant alternative to white lycra chair covers if you prefer a softer, more feminine look.  All chairs were decorated with a chocolate brown satin chair bow.

Place Settings

Charger plates are large decorative plates used to dress tables and our gold beaded range added instant glamour.  We chose gold to work in with crystal amber  beads which were used on the invitations.

White linen napkins matched tablecloths and were folded in a simple rectangular fashion.  A chocolate coloured satin ribbon with small diamante-look buckle brought in the colour to the place settings.  Napkins were positioned on top of the charger plates.

Centrepieces

These stunning crystal drop candelabras were an elegant focal point for the tables. 

Glittering with  white candles, they bathed the table in soft candlelight.  Candelabras were placed on mirror bases and surrounded by tea light votive candles.

Wedding Cake

The bride opted for a scrummy chocolate mud cake with chocolate moulding icing and white ribbon.  The cake was provided by Yenmart, located in Bureigh on the Gold Coast.  Flowers by The Lilac Tree, also located on the Gold Coast.

Cage Wishing Well Station
Our wishing well stations are a celebration of love!  They include:

·         Vintage books

·         An old dictionary with the definition of love highlighted

·         a photo frame with bride loves groom

·         matching ribbon to suit wedding colours

·         Wishing well sign to suit the colours of the wedding.  The sign reads “Your generous gifts are gratefully received”.

·         1 large bird cage, 1 small bird cage

The Groom wa an actor so we included some old Latin play books...it's all about personal touches!

In an old dictionary, we highlighted the definiton of love for guests to read as they popped in their gift

Ceremony

The Bride and Groom were worried about inclement weather on the day so decided to take the safe road and set up for a beautiful ceremony inside the ballroom.  We set our stunning Fairy Light backdrop for the couple to say their vows in front of, a red carpet aisle and white satin covered chairs for guests.

Sugar & Spice Events Circus Birthday Parties!

One of the things we love more than anything is creating AMAZING birthday parties for little ones.  The joy and anticipation they experience and wait for all year round gives parents the perfect opportunity to go all out and "treat them" to a party they won't forget!

We can create a circus party anywhere, but the BEST ones are held at the Aerial Angels Acafemy which is in Burleigh on the Gold Coast.  Children are not only treated to an amazing themed party room, yummy catering and circus dress ups, but also an incredible Circus Workshop which is taught by the world-famous Aerial Angels themselves.  Children can run away with the circus for a day as they learn to walk a tight rope, swing on a trapeze, juggle, hula hoop and so much more.

A beautifully decorated party table with red table cloth, blue satin table runner and glitter placemats.  Centrepieces are multicoloured feather trees.  Each Place setting boasts matching candy spot plate and cup in red, orange, yellow and green.  Themed party napkins are an essential decoration at any party.  Our circus themed party napkins feature a juggling elephant design in sunny yellow, tomato red, green and other primary colours.  Our party napkins are just the right size for those sticky little fingers!  Bench seats are covered with red vinyl seat covers with scalloped edges.

Room Theming

The room is transformed to resemble a colourful circus tent with red, white and blue satin banners hanging from the ceiling and meeting in a peak in the middle.  A large clown balloon is the focal point in the centre of the room.  The floor is covered with a striking red ring mat outlined in white stars.  To complete the look, red wooden glitter stars hang delicately around the outside of the room.

A themed popcorn station and cake table is also provided with red gingham cloth and blue satin runner.

A funky Circus photos booth complete with clown dress up costumes is also provided to guarantee you capture that Kodak moment!

Party Bags

Create the excitement of the circus at your party with our circus themed party supplies.  Gorgeous candy striped party bags come in red and white, apple green or blue.  They are filled with circus themed favours, lollies and a free class pass to the Aerial Angels Academy.  Our Lolly bag tags feature a juggling elephant design in bright yellow, tomato red, green and other primary colours.   Bags are tied with ribbon and finished with a colourful lollipop.

Bird Cage Wishing Wells and Decoration

Vintage weddings are so en vogue and they are bringing with them all sorts of fabulous pretty embelishments.  Lacey table cloths, bespoke centrepeices and wild flower style arrangements.  We love them!

To go with a vintage theme, a gorgeous bird cage wishing well is a beautiful alternative to the usual wooden tradition.  They can be decorated with flowers and ribbon to match in with your wedding colours and look soooooooooo much prettier.

Decorative Vintage Plates

Really, is there anything prettier than a beautifully decorated plate to adorn a vintage inspired table?
We think not! We are LOVING weddings that use vintage plates to decorate their tables.  Here's some examples...

This plate is gorgeous and is made even prettier with the lacey and diamante encrusted napkin ring...

The use of different plates on an otherwise simply decorated table adds interest and plates become a pretty focal point.

Simple flower arrangement and crisp white linen can bring out the colour in the plates...stunning!
